Just like many of you out there, I first learned bass fishing from my Dad, and to respect the outdoors and what it has to offer. You may recall seeing me host the Southern Outdoorsman TV fishing show, which aired out of Knoxville, TN in the late 1980's. At that time I was known as "The Happy Fisherman." In addition, there have been many articles written about my successful techniques as both a tournament fisherman and a largemouth bass fishing guide. I have been bass fishing all over the country since 1962, but now make my home on Lake Weohyakapka (Walk-in-Water) coordinating with a network of only the finest Orlando area largemouth bass fishing guides. I specialize in trophy largemouth bass fishing Central Florida (the fishing capital of the world) where I have made my home since 1989.
I have previously fished with many distinguished fishermen, such as the former president of Abu Garcia, Porter Waggoner, Jerry Reed, Tom Mann, Tom Mann Jr., Neil Bonnet and Davey Allison, just to mention a few. At one time I worked for Abu Garcia as the Assistant Director of Tournaments and Promotions for several years, which is how I met my wife. This experience taught me everything there is to know about spinning and baitcast reels.
Being an avid outdoorsman since childhood, I recognized the special needs and desires of others seeking their great outdoor adventure. I no longer fish in tournaments because I prefer teaching others about nature and watching the joy on the faces of children and adults alike when they catch their first Florida largemouth black bass! That is why I created The Southern Outdoorsman Guide Service and work with a network of some of the best Kissimmee largemouth bass fishing guides and Orlando area largemouth bass fishing guides. I still consult for a few local tackle shops and write an occasional article or two for local magazines both online and in print, do radio interviews, and blogs.

Largemouth bass fishing and maneuvering on waters that connect, in one way or another, to the ocean requires special knowledge and navigational expertise. It is a requirement by the State of Florida to have a USCG captain's license when charging a fee. All of the largemouth bass fishing guides employed by The Southern Outdoorsman Guide Service are U.S. Coast Guard licensed captains.

* Focus On God and Family
We are a Christian-based business and we like to focus on families with children, which is why we offer largemouth bass fishing trips aboard pontoon boats. This is just another way to help keep families together, and to teach the youth how to be good stewards of the land and waters. It gives everyone (up to 4 at a time)the chance to fish at the same time. Plus, there are amenities aboard a pontoon boat that are not available on bass boats, such as a port-a-potty and a sun deck.
No one can truly guarantee that you will catch a trophy largemouth bass ... or any fish, for that matter. There are too many variables involved, such as: not setting the hook strong enough; not keeping enough tension on the fish; the fish jumps and throws the hook; the live bait (shiner) gets the hook buried into it instead of the bass; or you might catch another species of fish that frequent the same areas as the bass. But we do guarantee that our guides will put you on fish, which means you are extremely likely to get several opportunities to catch largemouth bass. And we guarantee that our guides will teach you and/or help you do whatever it takes to get your catch into the boat.
One way for businesses to show their appreciation to their employees or other business associates is to take them on a guided largemouth bass fishing trip. Some businesses will schedule this around a yearly meeting at a local lodging establishment that offers additional activities. We coordinate with other largemouth bass fishing guides to provide either pontoon boats and/or bass boats for everyone who wants to fish. The fishing trip(s) can be arranged around your meeting schedules.
